The Islamic and Middle Eastern Room contains donors of a number of private collections of manuscripts and printed books about the Islamic religion and the Islamic world, acquired in the Middle East and South Asia, as well as in Europe.
They have been bequeathed or gifted to the Library since the middle of the 19th century, and form the basis of the Library's research resources on the world of Islam, the Middle East and South Asia.
