chronology of ancient nations was
acquired in 1851 in Ispahan by Robert Binning, ICS who gifted it to
EUL in 1877.

This superbly illuminated
MS history of the world was written in approximately 707 AH (1307
AD), collected by Lt-Col John Baillie, Professor
of Arabic Fort William College, Calcutta. It complements the MS formerly
in the Royal Asiatic Society's Collections and now in private hands.

Quran
(10th century AH, 17th century AD)
This elegant, richly
illuminated, Quran came from the Library of Tipu Sultan (1165-1214 AH,
1749-1799 AD) at Seringapatam. After the battle, the Library was acquired
by the East India Company, whose Court of Directors presented this volume
to EUL in 1805.
