This room in the Gallery displays a tiny selection of images from some of the masterpieces in the Library's collections, among which we invite you to browse. Click on the thumbnails to view larger versions of the images. The originals can usually be consulted in the Special Collections Reading Room in the Main Library by prior arrangement; some, however, are so rare and so fragile that access to them has to be very limited.
The creation of digitised images from them enables more people to see them than has been possible hitherto.
